HUNTER BARRY 3rd AT STATE

ADDISON SHANNON TAKES 7th

DANVILLE - This past weekend, Hunter Barry took the bronze at the Midget State Finals.  Addison Shannon finished strong with a 7th place.  Midget State is an off season tournament for 8, 9 & 10 yr olds that had placed in the top 4 at a previous qualifying tournament.  Other LRWC members who qualified and competed were Heath Hougas and Jared Sarti.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

TYLER NESS QUALIFIES FOR STATE

Tyler Ness will be wrestling this Friday in the 2005 IKWF State Finals

at 215 lbs in the Senior Division.  Congratulations Tyler!

There are LRWC wrestlers planning on going to camps, clinics & tournaments during the off season.  If you are attending any, let us know so we can let others know when they inquire.  Freestyle & Greco tournaments are recommended, not just Folkstyle.  Learn by attending.

Marathon Regional Seeting Meeting

Coach McTague & Coach Shaw attended the LaSalle Regional seeting meeting last night, which lasted over 4 hours.  Individual brackets will be available for viewing at Friday's practice.

 

Wrestling Cards

All wrestlers need to get their wrestling card from Coach McTague before the IKWF tournament weigh-ins.

 

 

 

 

 

 

CONGRATULATIONS COACH MCTAGUE!!!

Coach McTague helped coach a historic 5 state medal winners at this weekend’s High School State Finals.  Capped by an exciting overtime championship victory by John Dergo, fellow teammates Burim Hajroja took 3rd, Brenton Valentine, 4th, Brandon Valentine 4th and Stewart Jelm 6th.  All of these state medal winners started as youths with IKWF.  LRWC members Bret Borgstrom and Ben Cryder were among the large Morris crowd in attendance.

TYLER NESS COMPETES AT IKWF STATE

ROCKFORD - Tyler Ness made it to the final competition of the IKWF season in the Senior (13-14 yr old) Division.  Tyler's bracket was redrawn and he was paired up with a tough LP opponent.  Coach McTague said, "I was impressed.  Tyler went after him with fire in his eyes but was unable to pull off a win."  Tyler was the second LRWC member to attend the IKWF Finals in as many years.

HUNTER BARRY IKWF WEST CHAMPION

Hunter Barry is the 2005 IKWF West Sectional Champion.  Hunter wrestled at 122 lbs in the Midget Division.  Congratulations Hunter!

Sectional Director Announcements

Tim Taylor, IKWF West Sectional Director, explained that the school and IKWF officials are going to be much stricter this year on the following.

 

No Smoking on School Grounds

Smokers cannot just step outside of the school or go to your car parked on school property to smoke.  You must leave the property completely.  School and IKWF officials will call the police with the first report of smoking.

Sportsmanship

Poor sportsmanship by a wrestler or parent will result in an immediate ejection from the tournament.

 

Wrestle Backs

Wrestle backs to 3rd Place.  Walk-overs at quarterfinals.  Walkover means if you already beat someone you don't have to wrestle them again to advance in the consolation bracket.
