wrestlers and their family members.

Little Redskins
Wrestling Club Sectional Champions
Princeton, IL.
This past Saturday, March 07, 2009 the Little Redskins Wrestling
Club was crowned the IKWF West Sectional Intermediate Division
Champions. The club took 3rd
out of 38 teams in the overall team standings and qualified four Novice and
Senior division wrestlers for the IKWF State Finals this Friday and
Saturday, March 13 & 14 at the Rockford Metro Center.
The intermediates (9-10 yr olds) had two Sectional
Champions, two runner-ups, and two 3rd placers. Cody Baldridge led the team scoring with
26 team points with a dominating 1st place at 55 lbs with a bye,
tech fall, pin and decision. Michael
Feeney had a stellar performance with 25 team points with a strong 1st
place at 74 lbs with a bye, pin and two decisions. William Ringer racked up 22 team points
by taking 2nd place at 95 lbs with a bye and two pins. Merrick Hairapetian took 2nd
at 79 lbs with a bye and two decisions for 16 team points. Dylan Thompson took 3rd at 58
lbs with a pin and two decisions for 16 team points. Tony Menozi took 3rd at 70 lbs
with two byes, two decisions and a major for 10 team points. Conner Shaw at 62 lbs and Jeffrey Palmer
at 79 lbs both helped out by pinning their first round opponents for 4 team
points each. Six of the eight
intermediates took top 3 places and will be awarded State Qualifier
designation by the club.
The club is very proud of the Novice (11-12 yr old) and
Senior (13-14 yr old) divisions where four of the eight qualified for the
IKWF State Finals with three Sectional Champions and one runner up. They were Dalton Ness, 1st at
Novice 138 lbs with a bye, major, decision and pin for 24 team points;
Kenny Baldridge, 1st at Senior 74 lbs with three byes and a
decision for 20 team points; Preston Miracle, 1st at Senior 177
lbs with two byes, a major and pin for 25 team points; Mitch Dite, 2nd with two byes
and decision for 16 team points.
Cory Kodat, Senior 108 added to the overall with 4 team points with
a first round pin. Emmet Chouinard,
Novice 84 lbs, Christian Embry, Novice 115 lbs and Cory Kodat, Senior 108
lbs also participated.
Good Luck Dalton Ness, Kenny Baldridge, Mitch Dite and
Preston Miracle at State!

CONGRATULATIONS
IKWF WEST REGIONAL CHAMPIONS
Tony Menozi (70 lbs) led the Intermediate Division
(9-10yr olds) to a IKWF Regional Championship at Geneseo-IL this past
Sunday by taking 1st place and pinning his last two opponents
for a total of 26 team points. Cody
Baldridge (55 lbs) also came up huge by taking 1st place with a
pin and major decision for a total of 25 team points. Other Intermediate place winners
advancing to Sectionals are: Dylan
Thompson (2nd, 58 lbs), Mike Feeney (2nd, 74 lbs),
Merrick Hairapetian (2nd, 79 lbs), William Ringer (2nd,

lbs), Kevin Countryman (2nd,

52 lbs), Charlie Lewis (3rd, 52 lbs), and Robby Bates (3rd,
58 lbs)
Novice (11-12 yr olds) all advanced to Sectionals: Dalton Ness (1st, 138 lbs),

Seniors (13-14 yr olds) had 3 Champions and 3 more

Little Redskin Invite...
I would like to
say “thank you” to everyone who helped make the Little Redskin Invite
wrestling tournament a success. From the time we set up on Saturday
night, too clean up on Sunday afternoon... everyone was great. We had
478 wrestlers this year. Your hard work and dedication to the program
is very much appreciated. Great job.

--Maroon practice group - Tuesday and Thursday 5:30pm -7pm and Saturday 8am
-9:30am
--Varsity practice group - Adds Wednesday night from 5:30pm - 7:30pm.

2008 Maroon and White Night
When:
Wednesday Dec. 3rd, 2008 at 5:30pm – 7:30pm
Where:
Shabbona (small gym)
Gym set
up: 5:30pm sharp! Two flexi-roll mats and two score
tables.
Volunteers:
We need 6 parents to help keep score and time for the matches.
Concessions:
We need a parent to sell drinks during the night.
Details:
Seneca WC is coming over to compete against us. We will run this like
a mini-tournament. We will match the boys up by age and weight.
This is mostly for the 10 and under but, Seneca does have a few Novice and
Senior wrestlers. John Tezak(Seneca coach) is putting together a list
of boys that will be coming over. There will be a sign-up sheet at
practice on Saturday morning. Our goal is to try and get at least one
match for each of our wrestlers.

not provide this night for our wrestlers.

-Saturday, November 1st. we need volunteers to help set up
the Shabbona wrestling room. I will be there at 8am with coffee and
doughnuts:) The more guys we have there, the less time it will take to set
up. We start before the Junior High program does and if we wait for them,
I'm afraid the room will not be ready when we start practice. Please be
there to help.
-Coaches: I have an instructor for the Copper Card Clinic.
Sunday, November 16, 2008. Contact me if you want to be USAW Copper Card
certified. Reminder, IKWF Board has made it a requirement in order to coach
in the IKWF State Series(regionals, sectionals, state) ALL coaches need to
be Copper Card certified (or ASEP certified).
-Practice starts next week. I need birth certificates for
a few wrestlers. You can drop them in my mail box or contact me to make
