LRWC News Letter #5

Thank you, thank you, thank you.!!!
The second Little Redskin Invite was a huge success.
We could not have done it without the help of everyone
in the club.  The support was tremendous.  We had over
620 wrestlers in attendance.  That is one huge youth
wrestling tournament.  The parents are the key to any
successful program and you people proved that once
again.  Thank you all very much.  Coaches, my thanks
go out to you too.  Moving the mats, set-up and
clean-up went great.  You guys have it down to a
science now.  Excellent job!

Tournament schedule change
The Minooka Little Indian Open tournament date has
been changed to Saturday, January 26th, 2008.  Look
for the sign-up sheet on the information table next
practice.  There will be no form to fill out.  Sign-up only.

Varsity practice schedule change
Starting Tuesday, January 8th, 2008 the Varsity will
have an optional practice day.  The Varsity room will
be open for practice every Tuesday (5:30pm-7:30pm)
from now until the end of the season.  Attendance is
highly, highly recommended.  This is for the VARSITY
room only.  Maroon and White groups will still
practice as scheduled on the calendar.

IKWF Kids Open in Peoria, IL.1/19-20/08
The Kids Open is the major fund raiser tournament for the Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation.  It's a great,
great tournament and attendance is highly recommended.  It is an over night tournament.

Weigh-ins are the night before (Saturday) in Peoria.  Also, no coaching is allowed on the floor.
On-line registration is now open at: http://www.ikwf.org/KidsOpen/koikwf08a.htm
Tournament details can be found online at: www.ikwf.org
The club has a block of rooms. Four are still available but, if the interest is there we will try and get more.

Contact Kim Bordner for details on the rooms.

Match-up duals volunteer.???
We are looking for a volunteer to take over the coordination / operations for our dual meets scheduled
for Thursday, January 10th, 2008 and Tuesday, January 15th, 2008.  If we do not have a volunteer step up,
these duals will be cancelled.

Little Redskin pride and support.
Wrestlers, coaches, moms and dads when we compete as a club all wrestlers will wear their Little Redskins
singlet.  We're an up start program and when our kids are winning, we want the whole IKWF world to notice.
National and individual singlets can be worn at preseason and post season event.  The IKWF Open is
also an event our wrestlers can show off their national singlets.  Parents; we ask everyone to try
and sit together at the tournaments.  It's a good feeling when one of our kids win a big match and
there's a roar of applause from the stands.  Build club unity.  Camaraderie. Club pride is crucial when
building a program.  Like I always say, the parents are the key to the program.  Gooo skins!!!

Dads and coaches... plan on moving the wrestling mat
